Going deeper: St. Bartholomew's Orphanage is a refuge in a war-torn region. Southern Sudan has suffered during two decades of civil war. There are millions of vulnerable children and widows in the region. The founder, Susan Tabia, is both an orphan and a widow. The home was created in 2004 and has expanded rapidly with new dorms and a babies home erected in 2007 and a new dispensary in 2008.
