Bartholomew Orphanage
Sudan
A sister orphanage to Amazing Grace, in operation since 1994. Currently
houses 34 orphans with plans to double the occupancy in 2006.
Involvement: Lahash
partners with St. Bartholomew to provide money that is
used for local schooling needs, feeding, clothes, and medical
supplies.

Widows Fund - Uganda/Sudan
Susan Tabia has organized hundreds of widows into small groups that encourage
spiritual and community development.
Involvement: Lahash
partners with IWASSRU to assist these women with small
business opportunities, blankets, mosquito nets, seeds,
garden tools, Bibles, education, and community support
and seminars.

Lepers Fund - Sudan
Susan Tabia and Ezbon have partnered with a leper colony in Southern
Sudan that have been abandoned by the medical community for years because
of the insecurity in the region.
The
Lahash team met with the leper community of Kajo Keji in
2005, and handed out supplies of blankets, cooking pots,
clothing, and soap. Together with IWASSRU, Lahash would
like to provide a second one time gift to the community.

Based in Eldoret, Kenya |

(Sex Worker Recovery Program)
Currently assisting 5 sex workers in a pilot program to leave the prostitution
industry and seek emotional, spiritual, and physical healing - as well
as financial stability through education or micro-loans.
Involvement: Lahash
is working closely with SCF Director Nick Kemboi to offer
caring and practical assistance to former sex workers.
This includes assistance with rent, food, and education
needs - and email correspondence, accountability, and friendship.

HIV/AIDS
Counseling and Home Based Care
Working in the community of slums in Eldoret Kenya assisting HIV positive
clients and their families.
Involvement: Lahash
and SCF have joined together to provide emergency care
for families devastated by HIV/AIDS. This assistance takes
the forms of school uniforms and other clothing, food,
rent assistance, and counseling families with overcoming
the stigma and finding hope for life.

Church of Tanzania
Based in Dodoma, Tanzania |

Sponsorship
Assisting orphans with education, spiritual guidance, community development,
health, and fun. This program is partnered with Lahash staff in the United
States, combining Western and Tanzanian sponsorship for each child.
Involvement: Lahash
sponsors are sending $9 per child to match the Tanzanian
church members' $9 per child for a total of $18 per month.
This program aims to cover kids that other sponsorship
programs cannot support.

Counseling and Home Based Care
A program run by Pastor Amos Muagachi and Jo French from the church offices.
Assisting HIV clients with money for CD4 testing, food, clothing, rent,

for these HIV client families.

Tenderfeet School for Orphans and Vulnerable Children
Based in Nairobi (Kibera slums), Kenya |

Tenderfeet Children's Center
Margaret Wanjiku Nyabuto runs a small 6 room school for AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in the desperately needy slums of Kibera, Kenya. Kibera is one of the largest slums in the world.
The school provides safety, spiritual guidance, and education to 50 pre-school and kindergarten age children. The children are also fed two meals during the day.
Involvement: Lahash
is assisting with schooling and feeding costs.

Vehicle for Susan Tabia
Partner - IWASSRU
For over a decade Susa Tabia and the team from IWASSRU have used public
transportation for traveling and moving goods. Susan is in very poor
physical shape (having suffered an accident, loosing her hearing, and
experiencing high blood pressure). Often she is forced to stay in run-down
hotels with no security as she visits and supervises all of the projects.
She has asked Lahash to try to raise the remaining money for a used Toyota
4WD vehicle.

House and Restaurant
Partner - IWASSRU
The orphanage and widow community of Southern Sudan is looking into long
term solutions for sustainability. They have decided to construct a guest
house and restaurant that can accomodate local guests and provide additional
income as a guest house for the orphans and widows. It will also provide
employment opportunities for the community, and education for the orphans.

Training Home
Partner - IWASSRU
Susan Tabia of IWASSRU is constructing a tailoring training house for
the widows in the association. The costs include construction of the
house and purchasing 6 sewing machines.
