Leisha Adams, Partnership & Sponsorship Director Leisha Adams has worked in small business in Portland, Oregon for several years. She coordinates our Tanzanian and Sudanese Sponsorship programs, and assists with internal systems and traveler and partner communication.
Edwin Angote, East Africa Coordinator Edwin Angote coordinates visitor trips to East Africa. He also works to ensure that each of the partnerships are healthy and communicating well. Edwin and his wife Chrsitine live in Nairobi, Kenya.
Casey Schilperoort, Media Director Casey Schilperoort, his wife Abbe, and their son Asher live in Portland, Oregon. Casey specializes in video production and travels and films our partners and the people they serve.
Part-time Staff and Volunteers
Dax Mitchell, Kenya Operations Director Dax and his wife Karen live in Houston, Texas. Dax advocates for the projects in Kenya and works closely with the teams there to respond quickly to communities driven to poverty by AIDS and corruption. He also coordinates the Kenya sponsorship programs.
Lyla Peterson, Medical Coordinator Lyla has worked for years as a nurse, and traveled with a Lahash team in the winter of 2006/2007. She has been a powerful advocate for the medical treatment of the vulnerable. She works extensively with our Sudanese orphanages, and also sells crafts made by Sudanese widows.
Erin Holcomb, Travel Coordinator Erin has traveled on two occasions and has visited each of our partners. She coordinates the process of training and eqipping travelers to integrate in into the communities in East Africa. She and her husband Dan live and work in Portland, Oregon.
Joel Strong, Database & Business Guru Joel and his wife Kristy live in Tigard, Oregon. He built and maintains our database and assists with business and infrastructure development and effeciency.

Dana Bertermann, Hope Is Alive Magazine Editor Dana traveled to East Africa in January 2007 and was impacted by the stories and reality for the vulnerable in the slums and cities of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. She currently is the editor of our bi-monthly magazine Hope Is Alive.
Nickson Khamasi, Partnership and Project Development Nickson and his wife Caroline live in Portland, Oregon - but are originally from Kenya. They have been involved in HIV/AIDS home care, Inter-church development work, the constitutional review, and discipleship. Nickson provides cultural understanding to our partnerships and assists with project proposals and accountability.
Mandi Stonehouse, Community Health Mandi is a student at PSU in Portland, Oregon. She is studying community health. Mandi assists with numerous projects in the office and often handles travel coordination in East Africa.
