Details on Supporting Dan!

Dear friends!

I'm committing to working with Lahash full-time beginning this year. The organization has been running in the background for 2 years now, and the projects and involvement have reached a level to where continuing with my old job while working with Lahash is too complicated and time-consuming. So with the dawn of 2006 , I'm going to need your support to continue.

This is what I'll to be doing:

• Running the day-to-day Lahash operations from Portland, Oregon
• Developing a network of communities in the United States that are eager to share their friendship, resources, and hope with East Africa.
• Lending support, advice, direction, and sharing friendship with the organizations Lahash is partnered with
• Maintaining Lahash.net, allowing the the realities, the courage, and the hope of East Africa to be known to the world through blogs, video, music, and photos
• Traveling at least once a year to the region
• For the first part of 2006, organizing a board, registering the organization as a non-profit, and finding volunteers to help out with the vision
• Conducting research, together with the partners in East Africa, to allow for better education, health, and life for the communities there
• Partnering with mature and Godly women and men both in the United States and in East Africa so that our faith will mature together
• Working with musicians, artists, poets, and other creative types to provide a platform for beautiful and honest expressions from Africa to have a stage and a voice
• Developing the Renew Program (Sex Worker Recovery), the Dodoma Child Sponsorship Program, the ERM Child Sponsorship Program, the IWASSRU Sudanese Orphanages, and the Kenyan and Tanzanian HIV/AIDS client care programs
• Streamlining the communication process so that communities in the United States can easily enter into the issues and solutions of East Africa through emails, blogs, digital photos, video, and art
• Coordinating and assisting with trips to the region

Those are the plans! Would you like to join me by providing some monthly support? I need to raise $2000 per month. This will cover my rent, bills, food, insurance, travel, and some marketing and office expenses. We are keeping general donations 100% separate from office and personnel costs. That way any donation sent into Lahash will be transferred in its entirety to East Africa. But this also means that I have to raise my own support separately.

So I'm looking for some friends and family and friendly strangers to pledge $50 or $100 or whatever else is possible to ensure that things are run smoothly from the office. I'm extremely excited about this new step. If you are interested in assistance, let me know by emailing: dan@lahash.net
